Teens Hold Meeting about Gangs

A gathering of about 80 teens took place at La Pintoresca Library on Thursday to learn about gang violence and collaborate on peace making plans. The participants believed that the meeting was successful in discouraging everyone in attendance from becoming involved with gangs. According to police reports there were 24 attempted murders and 8 deaths attributed to gangs since August 2006.

This is a good plan with all of the gang violence taking place. If this can decrease the participation in gangs than it is a success.

It sounds like a really good plan. I hope that it really does work and that it stops teen violance. Though it will take a lot to bring down gangs, it is a good start.

Teens need to be aware of what's out there in the real world! By having these meetings, they will be knowledgeable about these gang violences.

I think this is great because it opens their eyes and help understand more about gangs. This might help stop the progressing gang violences in the future.

This is a good plan to educate and try to persuade teenagers not to join gangs. I hope for the best that this program continues, because everyone deterred is someone saved.

This is great. many teens arent aware of their surroundings and when it's safe and when it's not. This will open many of their eyes up.

Teen violence is scary and insane. I really believe this is a great plan and I'm really hoping that it'll be a real significant change to our world!
Also, unlike DARE it's talking to TEENS not kids; people that are more mature and understanding.
